#JAdoreVoxBox Review

I got my #JAdoreVoxBox on Valentine’s Day, and yes, I’m just getting around to blogging about it now. Here’s what was in it, and what I thought of it:

A family sized bag of Hershey’s Kisses: I don’t need to tell you I loved these, do I? I was actually going to make an unboxing video and I pre-opened the box for sake of ease. Before I got to making the video, my husband started sneaking into the box and stealing the Hershey’s Kisses. I figured a few wouldn’t be a big deal, I could still do the video, BUT HE KEPT DOING IT!!! Then I figured since he was doing it so much, I could maybe have a few. This continued over the next few days, with both of us only slipping our hands into the box and pulling the delicious foil-wrapped treats out, never actually opening the box. Finally, I reached in to find an empty bag and I had to open the box all the way. I saw a few lonely kisses strewn about the box like bag fries and I ate those fuckers as I put away the remaining contents of the box.

Vaseline Men Spray Lotion: Okay, this hasn’t been used yet. My husband said he would use it, but he hasn’t yet. I may have to ambush him with it when he is getting out of the shower. I’ll keep you posted.

Boots Botanics Clay Mask: The product had separated, so it was really watery and I had to shake it and massage the tube for a while before it was even close to spreadable consistency. I didn’t notice a scent, though I have a cold, so it may be lightly scented. I used the product as directed and when I washed it off, my face was BRIGHT red (as in red like a red crayon) everywhere the mask touched.  In Boots’ defense, my skin is very sensitive, still, I wasn’t expecting to have a reaction from something with so few ingredients. The redness went away in about an hour and I will say that my skin felt really clean and not at all dry. I like the end result, but am a little bit afraid to try it again, given how my skin reacted immediately following use.

Red Rose Tea: I got two flavors Creme Caramel and Lemon Chiffon. I haven’t had the Lemon Chiffon yet because it’s caffeine free and I haven’t found myself in a situation when I wasn’t completely exhausted since before my 8-month-old daughter was born. The Creme Caramel  tea was shockingly amazing. I am not a big fan of flavored coffees and teas (unless they are flavored with things like lemon grass and chamomile), but this was outstanding. I might even buy it if I saw it in the store. It says it is naturally flavored, though I need to research how tea can be naturally flavored to taste like caramel. Anyway, if you like flavored teas, and you like caramel, this is your tea.

3 Day Straight Semi-Permanent Styling Spray by John Frieda: Here’s another one I have not used. I was really excited about it because sometimes I would like for my hair to be straight. Then I read the directions, and they said you have to use it before blow-drying your hair straight. That would take me about 90 minutes, and even if it lasts for three days, I am not spending 90 minutes straightening my hair. I wouldn’t even if all of my five children were grown and out of the house. I might spend 90 minutes on a fierce up-do, but not on blowing my hair straight. Nope. Not happening.

Kiss Lashes: Yet another I haven’t used. The last time I tried to put false lashes on, I looked like a spider had died on my eyelid, so I have been reticent to try these. They look really soft and fluttery, so maybe one day I will get a bee in my bonnet and try again.

False Eyelashes

I look creepier than this in false eyelashes

So that’s what was in my most recent VoxBox. May my various deities keep reminding the lovely folks at Influenster to keep sending me VoxBoxes! Until then…

Disclosure: I received this product complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.
