A few people have recently suggested I do photo caption contests on my blog. Only one of these people actually does caption contests on her blog, but I digress. Look at me, I’m digressing. Digress, digress, digress, digress…
I have been reticent because I have Little P, three Bonus Kids, The College Kid, The Husband, The Pets and The Job, and I worry I might not be able to post on a weekly basis. Yes, it’s that bad. I feel like I should be able to blog at least once a week, but so far I haven’t been able to make that happen, and when I do blog, I’m usually very unhappy with my writing (like right now, I will probably read this post and decide it’s written very poorly).
Anywhoo, I decided if I was going to do this, I wanted it to be a little bit different, so this is the deal: Almost none of the photos I post will have people in them. Maybe sometimes there will be an animal (maybe it will be your spirit animal!). Maybe sometimes there will be people in the background (maybe they will be your people, singing the song of your people). But there will almost never be closeups of people in the photos I ask you to caption. I know, I’m an asshole. Sorry.
Here’s how it will work: Readers will post their captions in either the current week’s caption contest blog comments, or the current week’s caption contest Facebook post comments; and winners will be determined the following week by comment likes on Facebook, or comment up-votes on the blog.
If you win, I will publish the blog post of your choice (subject to my approval, and I’m pretty laid back) on my Facebook page, and link to it in a post on my blog! Sound fair? Okay people, don’t leave me hanging! Here’s your first photo. Aaaannnnnd GO!
